    Born in Newton, MA, Dr. Jonathan Bishop is a highly skilled oral surgeon serving patients in Waltham and Newton. He pursued undergraduate studies in both Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology and Education at Emory University. He was awarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree (Cum Laude) from Tufts University and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. He served as resident and chief resident in oral & maxillofacial surgery at Tufts University, where he trained extensively in dentoalveolar surgery, including implant placement and bone grafting, trauma and reconstructive surgery, pathology, TMJ surgery, orthognathic surgery, and anesthesiology. He is also currently on staff at Metrowest Medical Center. In his free time, Dr. Bishop enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his family. He is passionate about helping his patients achieve optimal oral health and looks forward to providing exceptional care to the Waltham and Newton communities.

    Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

    Dr. Kenneth MacAfee grew up in Brockton, MA. He attended the University of Notre Dame where he was a member of the 1977 National Championship football team, graduating with a degree in pre-professional studies. He earned his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and pursued his post-doctoral studies in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center where he was chief resident. Following an eight-year career in academics, Dr. MacAfee returned to Massachusetts to participate in private practice where he has served the Waltham community for the past 30 years. During that time, he served on committees which were instrumental in the initiation of a dental implant center and sleep apnea center at UPenn. He also contributed to the design of a total TMJ prosthesis. His training additionally included orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, reconstructive surgery, and anesthesiology. He is currently on staff at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, ensuring top-quality care for patients in Waltham and Newton.
